Design Head & Managing Partner — Conservation lead

Febin

“A building earns trust the same way a doctor does — by getting the details right when it actually matters.”

Design Head and Managing Partner at Red Ant Studio, bringing over two decades of experience across heritage conservation, institutional architecture, and healthcare design — from restoring Kalakshetra's Koothambalam Auditorium to leading multi-speciality hospital projects across South India today.

Philosophy

Every building — whether a restored auditorium, a hospital, or a public jetty — has to work exactly, not just look right. Conservation teaches you to respect what's already there; healthcare design teaches you that a single misjudged detail has real consequences. Both disciplines have shaped the same habit: design with precision, and let the building's purpose lead the decisions.

Biography

Febin's career began in 2004 and has moved through some of the most demanding corners of the profession: heritage conservation, large-scale public infrastructure, and now healthcare architecture. Early international collaborations in the US and UK were followed by formative years in Goa, where he worked on the Goa Tourism master plan, the Fisheries Jetty and Department of Tourism building in Panaji, a 4,000-capacity amphitheatre, a 10,000-capacity convention centre, and archaeological conservation work in Old Goa. Back in Chennai, he led heritage and cultural projects at Benny Kuraikose & Associates — including the renovation of the Koothambalam Auditorium at Kalakshetra — before taking on a 315-unit residential masterplan in Bengaluru. He founded Triskele Architectural Works in 2019, delivering a 40-bed hospital, a 68-acre warehouse, five institutional buildings, resorts, farmhouses, and pond-restoration work. Since 2023, Febin has led design at Red Ant Studio as Managing Partner, overseeing institutional, corporate, industrial, and conservation work. In 2025 he also became CEO and Managing Partner at Hospaz Healthcare Services, leading the design of multi-speciality hospitals, OT complexes, and specialist clinics. He has been guest faculty at the School of Planning and Architecture, Vijayawada, and Assistant Professor at MEASI Academy of Architecture.
